I felt the presence of those who had walked the Way before me. Every pilgrim had a personal reason for walking the Camino - grief, gratitude, celebration, contemplative time, a quest, a discernment,, a turning point, or simply a pause. We pilgrims were vulnerable and tender. A statue of Mary bearing symbols of yearning and pain touched my heart, a reminder that we never have to bear our suffering alone.
